Cityscapes by Nicholas Trofimuk

Most noted for his sweeping New Mexican landscapes, Nicholas Trofimuk has turned his creative eye to a new series called "Cityscapes". He brings to this subject the same grandeur encompassed in his magnificent work of the American West. Photogenesis does not usually have "shows" per se but this summer we decided to do one for "Cityscapes" and hold an opening reception on Saturday July 14th from 5 - 7 PM. We hope you'll join us, but if that's not possible, enjoy the images from the show that we have included on the website!

Norton Hintz

New to the gallery is a physicist from the faculty of the
University of Minnesota. Norton grew up in Los Angeles and started photographing with his motherís camera at the age of 10.He built his own enlarger and became the official photographer for his high school. After an early start in photography, he earned a PhD in physics from Harvard and spent a year in Cambridge, England on a fellowship. He has traveled widely, never without his camera, and has wonderful images from many interesting places. Like the others represented by our gallery, Nortonís work is traditional and he does his own darkroom work. I think you will enjoy the romantic way in which he views his subjects.
